Accident benefits
Every person who meets with an accident is entitled to receive certain benefits — income replacement benefit, caregiver benefit, non-earner benefit and others. These benefits are collectively termed accident benefits.

How accident benefits work in Ontario
Accident benefits are dealt with by the legislation known as SABS — the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule. Anyone entitled to accident benefits will start receiving them from the 14th day after the accident date.
For instance, if the person is entitled to an income replacement benefit, they would get 70% of the net income they were earning before the accident, while recovering from their injuries and going through rehabilitation to get back to the physical condition they were in before the accident took place.
